Salep
Salep, or sahlab, is a thick, sweet hot milk drink sold on winter streets from Turkey to the Levant. It was traditionally thickened with flour ground from orchid roots; cornflour gives the same silky, custard-like body, and orange blossom, cinnamon and pistachios finish it.
