About Velvet

Velvet is a small, independent recipe site started by Joe, a young home cook who got tired of recipe pages that bury the method under a life story and measure everything in cups.

What you get here

• Metric, always. Grams and millilitres, with standard teaspoons and tablespoons. No cups, no ounces.
• Straight to the point. Ingredients, equipment, numbered steps, and a cook mode that keeps your screen on.
• Honest numbers. Nutrition per serving is estimated from USDA FoodData Central. We flag the EU 14 allergens and add diet tags, both checked against the ingredients.
• Labels you can check. High Protein and WHO Healthy are calculated by the site from the numbers, and every recipe shows its working.
