Japanese curry
Japanese curry arrived in Japan through British naval cooking and grew into a national comfort food, thick, mildly spiced and slightly sweet. Beef, carrots and potatoes are simmered in a brown roux sauce and spooned over short-grain rice, a meal loved by children and adults alike.
